I'm a player from BYOND and Hokage on a game with one of the highest playerbases. I've already read that players most likely won't be Kages and with many people wanting to play this game, I'm sure that's a good thing.

Little backstory first. I am an amateur manga artist, I've been drawing for about 6-8 years. Yen Press is hosting it's 2nd annual New Talent Search, going on till the 31st of March. Those of you with common sense knows where I'm going with this, but I'll say it anyway. I've decided to submit a short story manga for them (requirements are it must be 32 pages long).

The help I need is that I have two ideas I'm stuck between doing, and I need some help figuring out which idea to send. I feel I only have time to make one of them, because I have not written out the script or page-by-page outline for either of them. Any (true, constructive criticism) is very helpful. Please read both ideas then tell me which I should go with. Thank you for the input.

IDEA #1:

This is a spoof on the "Big Brother"/"Bad Girl's Club"/"The Real World" reality tv series. In this short story (I simply call "Roomies") It's the 6th (fictional) episode, and the 6 members have all chosen their friends and cliques already. In this "episode" 5 of the members pit themselves against the "genius otaku" roommate. When the 5 leave to go to a club and hang out, the odd man out stays home and booby-traps the whole house, (I mean every last inch of it). The roommates come home unsuspectingly are locked inside and are realize the trap (non-lethal, of course this is suppose to be a "mock" tv show) and the remaining roommates try to escape the house from the genius' diabolical traps.

Pros:

Funny, very fluid, and something new. Lots of tv show and anime puns.

Cons:

I need to make up the characters, design the house and traps

IDEA #2:

Basically a Sport/Action/Adventure story. In this, not too distant in the future, The world has turned to VR gaming due to a headset that serves as a computer. In this world, Chess is played on a virtual battlefield. In which the players have collectible models and packs for their chess sets. In this chapter, Sebastian Fawkes, my main character. Is facing off against a player who's set are schoolgirls with weapons. His are all collectible pieces from tournaments and other battles. The game is played exactly like chess, but graphics and effects make it look more like a battlefield mixed with Yu-Gi-Oh.

Pros:

I have the character sets all drawn out, and the characters. Very straight forward "defeat the opponent" story

Cons:

I need to map out the moves so that it looks like a real match between experienced players, and there are alot more drawing involved, due to the number of "pieces" on the "board".

I just want everyone to know that I have a 3 day weekend this weekend, and since I am moving to New Jersey at the end of this current school year, I am visiting New Jersey to look at some houses with the family. I will not see you guys for 3 days ;( so don't think I am dead.

There are only a few from October still here (Let alone the OLD forums, I myself was never even a member there), there's me, Dr.Acul(a), Coldhell, Moto, (Mod)Nightmare, jimmie577, (Mod)ICeCold, IIBaTMaNx, a few others, and some who pop on once in a blue moon. And out of the "1,078" members on this forum, that doesn't add up to much.
It almost hurts to go back through the old threads on here, I was going through the SA thread the other day, and I kept getting fuzzy feelings while reading the old posts XD.
The forum statistics say there is an average of 77.62 post per day, we all know those numbers aren't true. Hopefully that gives you newbies an idea of what the forum USED to be like, the days were it took me about 10 minutes to read through all the new posts when I woke up in the morning after a full nights sleep.
For some, this means that the forum is not worth coming to any more, well, I say that is wrong. At least come here for your friends and fellow guild members, if not the slight chance of game news.
Now don't get me wrong, I want the game to come out too! And if the game actually comes out, that's great! But, from now on, I am here for my guild-ies in SA, and to be with everyone else here.

I joined October 13th, 2011, at 09:37 AM, this forum was created on October 4th, 2011, at 05:20 PM. And I have been literally visiting almost everyday since joining. And I will continue doing so until this forum is destroyed and wiped off the face of the internet.

Oh, and Chug, do not post on here about how everything is just gonna be fine and dandy in a few weeks, until you actually say what's going to happen, and just who the heck you are talking about, I don't want to see a single thing about it here.

But any way, screw the game.
